Welcome to Georgsmarienhütte on the edge of the Teutoburg Forest! Here, in the Oesede district, is our home - and has been since 1900. This loyalty to the location is another reason for the reliability that has become the hallmark of our bedroom systems today. We have been owner-managed and family-run for 125 years. This has made us stable, reliable and also great. Today we produce over 450 bedrooms every day, which ensure satisfied customers and specialised trade partners far beyond Europe: first-class furniture from the carpenter in the Teutoburg Forest.

1900-1919
In 1900, carpenter Mathias Wiemann opens his own workshop in Oesede in the small 15 square metre cellar room of an inn. In addition to custom-made furniture such as chests and sideboards, WIEMANN also made pews for the Catholic church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Oesede. In 1917, his son Wilhelm Wiemann begins an apprenticeship as a carpenter in his father's company, while the workforce grows to an impressive 15 employees in the following years.

1920-1939
After the inflation of 1922/23, the economy recovers and the joinery manufactures high-quality products from 1925. The global economic crisis of 1929 hits the company hard. However, instead of downsizing, WIEMANN expands its sales channels, switches to series production and specialises in the manufacture of bedroom furniture. By 1939, the now 180 employees were already producing an impressive 40 bedrooms a day.

1940-1959
During the Second World War, the company has to switch back to a wartime economy. The company founder Mathias Wiemann dies on 24 March 1947. In 1950, Oeseder Möbel-Industrie is already manufacturing with 300 employees on 24,000 square metres. In 1956, WIEMANN develops the innovative "WIEMANN TV swivel stage", which one customer comments as follows: "This decorative and practical piece of furniture has sold extremely well wherever it has been displayed in shop windows."

1960-1979
At the beginning of the 1960s, around 60,000 households are supplied with products every year: in Europe, America, Canada, South America, Asia, Arabia, South Africa and Cyprus. The company premises grow to 32,000 square metres. Veneering is transferred to large-scale industrial production. Visitors from Paris, Puerto Rico, Buenos Aires and Moscow tour the production facility. At the "WIEMANN furniture railway station", 16 furniture lorries can be loaded simultaneously. At the end of 1979, the company has 641 employees.

1980-1999
In the 1980s, WIEMANN is one of the five largest bedroom factories in the Federal Republic of Germany and switches production to order-based series production. Wilhelm Wiemann dies on 28 March 1986. In 1991 and 1992, arson causes damage totalling DM 30-35 million. In 1994, Markus Wiemann, the fourth generation, joins the furniture factory. At the end of the 1990s, work is carried out in 28 halls on a covered area of approx. 48,600 square metres.

2000-2023
WIEMANN celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2000. On 23 December 2004, Markus Wiemann acquires the majority of the company shares. Various investments are made during this decade. In particular, a new painting and "all-rounder line" redefines quality and productivity. By 2023, the guesthouse from 1900 has become a 98,000 square metre site; 48,000 square metres of this is built-up production, administration or storage space. Every day, 400 to 500 bedrooms are dispatched throughout Europe and beyond.

This reliability also applies to the quality of materials, products and workmanship. WIEMANN manufactures on state-of-the-art production facilities and carries out strict controls and quality assurance measures. The result: a consistently high level of quality in the processes, in product processing, in environmental protection, in occupational health and safety and in product safety.

For us, "Made in Germany" is a sincere promise to our customers - high product quality characterised by reliability, safety and healthy living.
The criteria are extremely demanding and stand for a high standard of quality. Design, assembly and quality testing take place entirely in Germany.

Our furniture has been tested by an independent institute and fulfils strict criteria in terms of quality, safety, health and environmental protection - a good basis for carefree living that gives you peace of mind when buying furniture.

Our company is ISO 9001 certified and works according to a precisely defined quality management system.
This enables us to ensure the highest quality for our customers at every stage of the production, development and procurement process right through to the finished end product, allowing us to constantly optimise our business processes.

The well-being of our customers is our top priority, which is why we use independent certification to rule out odours, pollutant emissions or environmentally harmful ingredients from our furniture and meet the highest standards of quality and product safety.

Emission class A corresponds to the requirements of the limit values according to RAL-GZ 430 with at least 50 per cent undercutting of the legal limit values for emissions.
Emission class D means that the articles only fulfil the current legal requirements with regard to the limit values for emissions.

Certified with ISO 50001, we strive to continuously improve the energy-related performance of our company in order to make a contribution to environmental protection.

We show a sense of responsibility and have therefore joined the climate protection campaign of the German Furniture Quality Association (DGM) and climbed to the highest level of the climate pact!
