How to take proper care of your furniture

The surfaces of WIEMANN furniture are hard-wearing and robust.

Plastic and painted surfaces can be thoroughly cleaned with a slightly damp, lint-free cotton cloth. This will remove dust and everyday stains. When you are finished cleaning, rub the surface dry. Please do not use furniture polish. This contains wax that may leave stains or residues on the surfaces.
Scouring agents also contain abrasive particles that may scratch surfaces.

Clean glass surfaces with a little water or glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth. Special microfibre cloths are especially suitable.

Gently wipe mirrored surfaces with a very soft, clean cloth in order to avoid scratches.

Avoid fluids when dusting solid wood. Occasionally rub in a natural oil to treat the wood. This will protect the wood and prevent it from drying out. Please do not use microfibre cloths, as these can damage the structure of wood and leave behind small scratches. Water, cleaning and scouring agents must also be avoided.

Wipe imitation leather with a soft, slightly damp cloth and then rub dry.

Do not cover lights. Make sure that they are always exposed to the air so that heat can escape and does not build up.

Check that wall mountings have the right load-bearing capacity and when installing them, watch out for underlying power and water lines.

 

Stubborn cases

Remove stubborn stains with a little neutral soap that has been dissolved in warm water. Never use scouring agents or harsh cleaning agents containing ammonia or chlorine, as these may cause permanent damage to materials.

Tips and tricks

  • Stick felt gliders under heavy decorative objects to prevent scratches on furniture.
  • Fragrant sachets filled with lavender blossoms or sprinkled with natural oils fill wardrobes with a delicate smell.
  • Thoroughly air your bedroom every morning and every evening for several minutes. Good air will help you to sleep well.
  • Consciously enjoy your beautiful bedroom before you go to sleep and when you wake up in the morning. This will give you a positive feeling.
